St Paul's take under 14 B1 Shield

31 Aug 2019

St Paul’s 4-2 Ahoghill 1-3

This Under 14 B1 final had to be switched early morning from Randalstown to Cargin and it was Ahoghill who settled quickest and they opened the scoring with a goal from Katie McCloskey.

St Paul’s however hit back with a free from Rebecca McConville and one of the stars of the game wing half back wing Orleigh McGuinness added a point. Others to shine for the winners included Enya Dayne and Nicole Munce.

St Paul’s then took the lead with a goal from Megan Millar after a long ball in from Orleigh McGuinness. Ahoghill fought back with two points before the break from Molly Horan and Aishling O’Donnell and it was all to play for at the turnover at 1-2 each.

However St Paul’s took control of the game early in the second half with a quick goal from Gemma McGoarty and Sian McCloskey added another after good approach work from captain and centre half back Enya Dayne.

Near the end St Paul’s added their fourth goal, a wonderful finish from Saorlaith Brennan

Ahoghill never gave us and were rewarded with a late point from Molly Horan.
